The Digital Photography endorsed programme has been developed by CertiCon corp. (Czech national ECDL sub-licensee) in cooperation with CSKI (Czech National ECDL Licensee) and Zoner Software corp. (Czech photography software development company).
The programme focuses on knowledge and skills related to all common activities associated with digital photographs, such as managing and archiving, editing, enhancement, sharing and publishing.
Who is it For?
Digital photography is a rapidly developing field and users of digital cameras (all kinds) represent a significant part of the population. Digital photography is not only a phenomenon of free time and a common hobby, but also an important way of documenting various activities, events, processes, etc., which are frequently used for work.
The purpose of this endorsed certification programme is to fill the gap between the perception of digital photography as a hobby and using digital photography in professional practice in the labour market. Successful candidates of this programme will have a better chance for get a job in the labour market.
How Does it Work?
The programme consists of three modules comprehensively covering the field of digital photography processing:
Module DF1 - Managing and Archiving of Digital Photographs
The module is focused on understanding the specific properties and use of digital photography, as well as the basic terminology in this field. The candidate must know the principles of managing a photo collection and of working with metadata and know how to use software tools for managing and archiving digital photographs. Successful candidates should also be familiar with digital photography management and archival options and competently use appropriate software.
Module DF2 - Enhancement of Digital Photographs
This module requires the candidate to understand the basic digital photography processing terminology, know how to use a photo editor, understand that image defects that can arise during the picture-taking process and be able to choose suitable ways to correct them, know how to work with and develop RAW images, and know how to create panoramas and HDR images.
Module DF3 Sharing and Presenting of Digital Photographs
This module requires the candidate to know how to use appropriate tools when sharing and presenting digital photographs on the Internet, especially via social networks, web galleries and to appreciate the legal aspects of publishing photographs. The module also covers the area of printing technologies and colour management.
Each module is tested via a manual test in the real software environment. The test can be completed on a range of software platforms including Microsoft Windows 7/8, Zoner Photo Studio/ACDSee Photo Software (all three modules), Adobe Photoshop/Elements (DF2 module only), Photo gallery Zonerama, Photo bank Pixmac/Pond5 and more...
