Professionals in the Pacific Islands are benefitting from international digital skills training and certification thanks to a new agreement with ICDL Asia.

The Pacific Open Learning Health Network (POLHN) in Vanuatu is a joint project of the Vanuatu Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO).  The POLHN for Health Professionals covers 12 pacific islands which operate POLHN centres.  The goal of the POLHN project is to contribute to the improvement of health and scientific knowledge, skills and competencies of health professionals.

The Villa Open Learning Health Network is a primary component of the POLHN project which provides a learning centre equipped with computers and internet connectivity managed by an appointed POHLN coordinator.

Recognizing the importance of offering training materials and assessments that are of a high quality standard, the centre has been accredited by ICDL Asia to deliver the latest online automated assessment and testing system, with certificates to be issued from ICDL Asia’s Singapore office.
