ECDL Foundation turns 20 in 2017, and we’ll be marking the occasion in style with some highlights from our history that celebrate the impact ECDL has had over the past two decades. Since our start as a small project funded by the EU’s ESPRIT research programme in 1997, we have grown to see almost 15 million candidates in over 100 countries around the world.
People have used ECDL to build skills that have transformed their lives, from helping prepare people with learning difficulties for employment and independence in Zimbabwe, to supporting the integration of refugees in Austria, ECDL has achieved a lot!
Whether its delivered through a test centre on the remote Arctic Norwegian island of Svalbard, a mobile learning centre in New Zealand, or a ship of the Royal Netherlands Navy on the high seas, ECDL is helping bring ICT skills to every corner of the world.
Stay tuned in the coming months for a dive into some of the best and most inspiring stories of how people have used ECDL.
