The mapping of ICDL modules to the Thai National Qualification Framework for Digital Literacy Standards has been approved by the Thailand Professional Qualifications Institute (TPQI), a government body that develops occupational standards and accredits professional qualifications in Thailand.
The move follows the mid-2016 unveiling of the Thailand 4.0 policy, a new economic model that aims to build a creative and innovative value-based economy through the effective application of technology.
One of the policy’s four goals is to develop human capital for the digital era, including ensuring that the Thai workforce becomes digitally competent to international standards and that it is able to make full and creative use of technology in the workplace.
Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of ICDL Foundation commented, “We are honoured to have this partnership with the Thai government. ICDL Foundation is committed to help build the capacity of the Thai labour force.”
