A new agreement between Specto, the ICDL National Operator in Jordan, and the Association of Arab Universities (AArU) was signed in Amman in June 2017. The Memorandum of Understanding will see ICDL promoted to member universities of AArU. The agreement was signed by Professor Ahmad Abu-El-Haija of Specto, and Professor Sultan Abu-Orabi of the AArU. Universities will be encouraged to adopt the ICDL syllabus to enhance the ICT skills of staff and graduates. Specto will also participate in AArU meetings across the Arab region to further promote ICDL.

The Association of Arab Universities is an organisation working within the framework of the Arab League, with a membership of over 200 universities in 22 Arab countries. Its objective is to support and connect universities in the Arab world, and to enhance cooperation among them.
