Rwanda Management Institute (RMI) held an open day event, in collaboration with ICDL Africa, to promote RMI activities, including ICDL certification. During the event, Rwanda’s Minister of Labour, the Honourable Judith Uwizeye, congratulated RMI for its use of ICDL.

The Minister continued, stressing that all government employees in Rwanda need to be certified, whether they are already employed, or are seeking employment. A representative of the Ministry of Youth and ICT (MYICT) was also present, and expressed his pride at being a trained and certified ICDL trainer. Government officials noted that it is no longer an option for workers or employers to have digital skills, but an imperative. The event was a milestone in creating awareness about ICDL in Rwanda, and attracting media coverage.
