ICDL India, in a recent country-wide accreditation campaign has accredited top colleges and universities across the country to run a range of ICDL programmes. The main states where ICDL is available now are Delhi-NCR, Bangalore (Karnataka), Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya, and Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh). The majority of institutions running the ICDL programmes offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses, especially in engineering and management studies.

Two profiles will be offered in these institutes – the ICDL Base Profile, consisting of the four Base modules, and the ICDL International Profile, consisting of four Base modules and a choice of three modules from the Intermediate and Advanced offering. This will enable the students to strengthen their basic ICT proficiency through the Base profile, and allow them to enhance their skill set and gain competitive edge in the job market through the International profile. College sessions in India begin in late August and the ICDL programmes will be rolled out in early September in most places.
