Rwanda’s University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB) has become an ICDL Accredited Test Centre, and has announced that it wants to make ICDL a compulsory course for all students.

UTB, which is one of the largest private universities in Rwanda, with more than 6,000 students, invited ICDL Africa to speak to more than 400 candidates during an induction meeting with new students. All new students in the 2017-2018 academic year will be certified in the four ICDL Base modules, while those in their final year will complete seven modules. Next year, all second-year students will complete seven modules. UTB is the first university in Rwanda that has been willing to make ICDL mandatory for all students.
