The European Commission launched the second edition of its European Digital Skills Awards in early September. The awards will highlight projects to raise digital skills in five categories: citizens, workers, ICT professionals, education, and projects addressing the needs of women and girls. Nominations for the awards are open to companies and organisations in Europe, and the awards will be presented by the Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Society at a ceremony during the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition Conference in Brussels on 7 December.
ECDL Foundation partners have previously entered the awards, with OCG, the ECDL National Operator in Austria, submitting their ‘OCG Cares’ project, and ECDL Romania submitting their ‘ECDL FIN – digital skills for the financial sector’ project last year.
The deadline for nominations is 1 November 2017. More information can be found on the website of the European Commission.
