80 members of the Human Resources Managers Association of Uganda attended a breakfast meeting, hosted by ICDL Africa, on 29 September. The event was an opportunity to discuss digital skills for the workforce in Uganda, and attracted HR managers from both the private and public sectors.
ICDL Africa gave a presentation during the event, focussing on the need to standardise digital skills training, both for existing workers and new entrants to the workforce. The presentation also introduced ICDL Compass as a tool to enable organisations to better appreciate the digital skills gaps that they have. Both ICDL for the workforce and Compass were well received.
Also during the event, five people were nominated to participate in a committee to work with ICDL Africa to help identify the appropriate digital skills profile for HR professionals. The results will form part of a Continuing Professional Development programme for members of the Association.
