Frank Mockler, ECDL Foundation Head of Programme Standards, attended the China Vocational Education Innovation & Development Conference in Sichuan, China in November, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Deyang Education Bureau. The conference, which highlighted the increased focus that the Chinese government is putting on vocational education, brought together representatives from other countries in the region.

The MoU signing emphasised the commitment of the local government to promote ICDL in its institutes. Going beyond digital skills certification for students, ICT Skills training for the teachers and school management officers was also discussed. ICT skills are one of the important indicators of performance for the Deyang Education Bureau, and there will be more upcoming works to make this happen.
