Leading Chinese State-Owned-Enterprise Joins Force with ICDL Asia to Improve Digital Literacy in North China

ShougangFund, the investment platform of Beijing Shougang Group, has signed an agreement with ICDL Asia to offer the ICDL digital skills training and certification programme in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province. The signing ceremony took place at the Irish Embassy in Beijing, witnessed by Mr Simon Anthony Coveney, Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade of Ireland.

A world leading company in steel manufacturing industry, Shougang Group has been dedicated to providing access to quality education for the general public. Established by ShougangFund, Jingxi International Academy will conduct executive education programmes, as well as student training programmes on advanced technologies. Mr Ken Ching, a former PwC Director from Singapore and now Managing Partner of ShougangFund, came to know about ICDL in 2017. He said, “The practical user digital skills covered by the ICDL standard are very much needed in China. It fills the gap in vocational digital training and provides an international benchmark.”
