The European Commission has announced the 2018 edition of its European Digital Skills Awards. The awards aim to highlight project that further digital skills development in Europe. There are five award categories: Citizens, Labour Force, ICT Specialists, Education, and Women & Girls. The winners of the awards, and the runners up in each of the award categories will be invited to the ICT 2018 conference in Vienna to present their projects.
Organised in cooperation with the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition, the awards will be presented by the European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Mariya Gabriel, in early December 2018.
Entries for the European Digital Skills Awards must be submitted online by 21 October 2018. The awards are open to any organisation or company in Europe that is carrying out digital skills projects. This could include ECDL test centres that are working to improve digital skills levels in their own areas. More information can be found on the website of the European Commission.
