With over 14 million candidate registrations, and 20 years of the programmes, there are many examples of how ECDL has helped people and organisations to build and certify their digital skills.

France: La Poste
‘La Poste’, France’s national postal operator was established in 1576 as the first formally commissioned postal service in Europe. La Poste is responsible for all national parcel and mail services in France’s 27 regions. In addition to mail services, the organisation now also provides banking services to 11.7 million customers.

Switzerland: LUKB Bank
ECDL Raises Employee ICT Skills: Luzerner Kantonalbank. Founded in 1850, ‘Luzerner Kantonalbank’ (LUKB) is the leading bank in Canton Lucerne, Switzerland. With total assets of about CHF 25 billion (€20.8 billion), and a staff of close to 1,000, Luzerner Kantonalbank is one of Switzerland’s ten largest banks.

Ireland: How one of many Companies Benefits from the Irish Government’s Belief in the ECDL Programme
Even in the midst of our recent deep recession, the Irish Government continued to fund ECDL training for employees in Irish companies. This funded training was administered through an organisation called ‘Skillnets Ltd’. Skillnets is a state funded, enterprise led body established in 1999 and funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills (DES). Since 1999, Skillnets has funded over 400 networks and almost 70,000 enterprises to train over 300,000 employees.

South Africa: ICDL FOR THE KWAZULU-NATAL DEPARTMENT
Maximising the efficiency of the civil service in delivering essential services to citizens is a priority for any central and regional government. The KwaZuluNatal Department of Transport, South Africa, adopted ICDL over three years ago, as a way of using technology to improve efficiency in the work place.
